ACTIVITIES

At The Towers on Park Lane, you have the freedom to make your retirement full of choices and opportunities. Our senior community enjoys a variety of activities in a group setting, as well as individual activity centers, such as our Wellness Center, Pool, Woodworking Shop, Club, and other areas. Whether you enjoy book club, woodworking, or games, there is something for everyone. The Towers is a wonderful neighborhood of friends that provides companionship and community through an active senior lifestyle. You deserve to have the lifestyle that you have earned and the opportunity to live a carefree retirement. Companionship, convenience, and value are keys to the success of The Towers. We also have a variety of special events, including holidays, special speakers, and music and entertainment for the enjoyment of our residents.

In addition to our onsite recreational and community activities, our residents enjoy the opportunity to explore the surrounding city of San Antonio and Hill Country. We are conveniently located next to Fort Sam Houston and Brooke Army Medical Center, offering shopping trips and shuttle service to the hospital for appointments for our retired Military residents or for those that would like to volunteer. We also offer weekly shopping trips to nearby stores and scheduled visits to various concerts and local events. Our residents enjoy trips to the Hill Country for wine tastings, outside restaurants, and more. Many of our residents are active in the local community including participation in Tuesday Musical Club, San Antonio Symphony, San Antonio Opera, Cactus Pear Festival, and a variety of other local arts and cultural activities. We offer trips to the nearby San Antonio Zoo, San Antonio Botanical Gardens, and other enjoyable venues for the active seniors in our independent living community.

Each activity represents the hobbies and desires of every resident. At The Towers, residents can find just about anything they enjoy doing on or off The Towers property.

Garden Plots

The Towers understands that just because our residents are retired from work, it doesn’t mean they want to retire from their lifestyle. Retirement within our independent living community allows our residents to enjoy the activities and pursuits that they love and gives active seniors the ability and time to focus on worry-free living. As a part of our senior activities, residents are given the opportunity to reserve garden plots for personal gardening enjoyment. We understand active adult living requires the ability to continue all of your pre-retirement activities. After all, retirement gives you the freedom to enjoy the lifestyle that you earned. Our garden plots give our residents the opportunity to interact with our serene Texas nature.

Games

Whether poker is more your style, or you prefer the more refined game of bridge, finding someone who enjoys a game or two is not a problem at The Towers. Our residents enjoy companionship in a neighborhood of friends. There are a variety of game groups that regularly get together to enjoy a friendly game.

Activity Rooms

The Club at The Towers is available for games and activities, as are a variety of other rooms. The well-built and stocked woodworking shop offers carpentry buffs a wonderful location to work on projects. The library and card room offers a space for a small get together for book club or to play a quick game. The internet and computer center allow residents to check their email accounts and access Facebook and other online applications. Our craft room is a great place for sewing or working on other arts and crafts with friends or on your own. Our wide range of rooms can be used for activities that are coordinated by our staff or for individuals and groups of residents to reserve and use for their enjoyment.
